Research Associate Biology
The role
As Research Associate at Artica you play an integral role in the biology functional team, working closely together with fellow team members. You progress our small molecule pipeline by contributing to the development of biochemical and cell-based assays and will subsequently perform routine screening of compounds. In addition, you contribute to increased target and disease understanding by performing biological and biochemical experiments.
Being a Research Associate within the biology team, you are skilled in one or several techniques often used in our lab and will actively further develop your skills and knowledge and are always willing to help out colleagues whether it is with specific experiments or organizational matter around and in the lab. You will report to the Head of Biology while taking guidance of (senior) research scientists in day-to-day operations.
Are you a driven and enthusiastic research associate, with knowledge and skills in biochemical and cell-based assays: You’re welcome to apply!
Responsibilities
Plan, perform and analyze experiments to develop, optimize and routinely run biological and biochemical assays to profile our small molecule inhibitors.
Contribute to research goals by reading scientific literature, share and discuss ideas that contributes to hypothesis generation and subsequently perform experiments to test such research hypotheses;
Keep timely and accurate records of experiments in the Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and compound management systems. Ensures experimental protocols are correct, up-to-date and adhered to.
Pro-actively identify technical and scientific issues, communicate about these and pursue their resolution with the help and input of your colleagues.
Requirements
A completed Laboratory Science (HLO) or Master degree in Life Sciences;
1 to 3 Years of working experience in an ambitious research environment, where experience with drug discovery programs for small molecule inhibitors in an industrial setting is a plus;
Good understanding of, and experience with, biochemical and cell-based assays such as: mammalian cell culture, ELISA, Western blotting, FACS, immune fluorescence and generally multi-well colorimetric-/fluorescent binding or activity assays;
Ability to quickly specialize in all the ins and outs of new techniques;
Demonstrate a personal sense of urgency in getting good quality results and efficiency in planning, experiment execution and problem resolution;
Able to effectively collaborate in multidisciplinary teams where English is the working language;
A flexible, ambitious, result driven and entrepreneurial attitude.
What we offer
Employment for 32-40 hours/week;
A dynamic and transparent biotech company, celebrating achieved milestones together;
